                                                       TEACHER’S DAY
Socrates, Greek (Athenian) philosopher
(470-399 BC), was an example of a good teacher, who considered himself a learner as well. He believed that love and friendship were the proper contexts for the pursuit of wisdom and goodness. He saw himself only as a catalyst and felt it was not his teaching, but actually the power of the Divine which enabled the person he was talking with, to improve themselves.

5th September is the birthday of a great teacher Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan (1888 – 1975). When Dr. Radhakrishnan was the President of India during 1962 to 1967, some of his students and friends approached him and requested him to allow them to celebrate 5th September, as his "Birthday". In reply, Dr.Radhakrishnan said, "instead of celebrating my birthday
separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5 is observed as Teachers' day". This shows Dr.Radhakrishnan's love for the teaching profession. From then onwards, 5th September has been observed as Teachers' Day in India. (Source : Indian President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam's address on the eve of Teachers' Day in India, 2003).
=========================================
Teacher's day gift is the way to show the spirit of love, peace, humanity and good relations that a student shares with his/her teacher. This day is the right time to express the love and gratitude towards the most important person in life, after your parents.
========================================
                                               SCHOLASTIC SCHOOL
Chatram Primary School is in Kadayam Village (Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu, India, was founded in early 1920’s by the great Educationist and Social Worker K.S. Madhavan and other local Trustees of the Chatram (Free food and stay house for the Visitors and the poor).
The innovative approach in the formation of this school was in line with the poetic words “Build Thousand Free Food Houses, But do educate at least one poor in those Homes” of the local freedom fighter “Subramania Bharathi” (1882 – 1921).  This School has produced many great personalities, who have contributed many innovative concepts and Techniques of the World utility. The school was celebrating the Teacher’s day in 1963, and the students (Ages 5 to 7) brought humble presentations to the .Head Master (HM) of the School.

  • A girl from a poor agriculturist came and presented a stuff inside a packet made of dried palm leaves. The HM held it over his head and said "It is Kuzhi Appam" (See recipe below). The girl was surprised and asked “How did you find it ? The HM said "It is due to my Intuitive view !".

  • A boy, son of local grocery shop keeper came and presented a stuff, sealed inside a white plastic bag. The HM held it over his head and said "It is Chocolate". The boy was surprised and asked “How did you find it ? The HM said "It is due to my intuitive view !".

  • A little naughty and shrewd boy, son of a local fruit and jam seller, presented a stuff in a large basket covered with white cotton cloth. The HM held it over his head. A drop of liquid leaked through the bottom. He tasted it and said "I know, It is Orange juice". The boy said "No". He again tasted another drop and siaid "Oh, It is Honey". The boy again said "No". He tasted another drop and said "I am sure now. It is Mango Extract". The boy again said "No". The teacher was surprised and asked "Then what is it ?". The boy said "It is a Small Puppy. It can read and sing poems !! Your Intuitive View has already tasted 3 drops of my Tasty presentation !! Now you can have a Tasty View Sir !!
    ===========================

  • This primary School was upgraded to Middle and High School from 1945 onwards.

THAMIZH  THE LETTER "ZH" - AN UNIQUE THAMIZH
 ACOUSTIC GRAPHEME

The name of the frying vessel used in the recipe is "Appak Kuzhi". Appam is the eatable item. Kuzhi = Pit. The vessel has 5 circular depressions or Pits. ZH {LETTER - ZHA} is a consonant and   not acoustically comparable to the pronunciation of  any letter in any language in the World. The name 'Tamil' is an anglicised form of the native name THAMIZH . The final letter of the name, usually transcribed as the lowercase l or zh, is a retroflex r. In phonetic transcriptions, it is usually represented by the retroflex approximant.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tamzh
is a classical language and one of the major languages belonging to the Dravidian language family. This seems to have originated from the ancient Indus Valley Civilisation flourished  between 2600 and 1900 BCE, around.the ancient cities Mohenjo Daro, or "Mount of the Dead" and Harappa (now in Pakistan). There are about 77 million  Thamizh speakers in the world, out of that it is the mother tongue of about 68 million. It is predominantly spoken in :-

  • Thamizh Nadu in India, is the current mother tongue location  of the language.

  • Java, Malayasia, Singapore and Sumathra in Far East,  in  Sri Lanka, and  with smaller communities of speakers in many other countries. (The Far East nations were captured and ruled by ancient Chozha Kings of South Eastern India in 1st to 4th century AD. Their immigrants promoted Thamizh there. Srilanka was geographically joined with India. An earthquake followed by Tsunami waves in an ancient time, separated the land and created the Palk straight, linking the Bay of Bengal and Indian ocean.  The Thamizh people  captured in the pushed-off  earth mass known as Ceylon (As Ceylon, it became independent in 1948. In 1972, its name was changed to Sri Lanka), promoted the Thamizh language.

  • Each nation has their own local dialects, unique words and pronunciation methods. As of 1996, it was the 18th most spoken language in the world with over 74 million speakers worldwide.

  • In fact, Thamizh does not find a link to any known ancient language,  in the International "Language Tree". It is also an astonishing fact that Thamizh has no similarity or any link with Sanskrit, the base for all other languages in India.

  •  Archaeologists discovered two 4000-year-old cities, 400 miles apart, along the banks of the Indus River in Pakistan. These expertly constructed cities were parts of an advanced civilization comparable to ancient Mesopotamia and Egypt. Archaeologists named the cities Mohenjo-Daro, which means “hill of the dead,” and Harappa, after a nearby city. The people of Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa lived in sturdy brick houses that had as many as three floors. The houses had bathrooms that were connected to sewers. Their elaborate drainage system was centuries ahead of their time. Thamizh was found to be the language of the ancient Dravidians, who lived and prospered in the Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa civilization.

  • Thamizh words are in Swahili  (Bantu language of Kenya and Tanzania in Africa),  Native languages in Australia and  South America / Mexico (Passed down from the Maya civilization).

As one of the few living classical languages, Tamzh has an unbroken literary tradition of over two millennia. The written language has changed little during this period, with the result that classical literature is as much a part of everyday Tamzh as modern literature. Thamizh schoolchildren, for example, are still taught the alphabet using the átticúdi, an alphabet rhyme written around the first century BC.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dating the earliest literary works themselves is difficult, in large part because they were preserved either in palm leaf manuscripts (implying repeated copying and recopying) or through oral transmission. Internal linguistic evidence, however, indicates that the oldest extant works were probably composed sometime between the 2nd century BC and the 3rd century AD. The earliest available text is the Tolkāppiyam, a work on poetics and grammar which describes the language of the classical period, portions of which date back to around 200 BC. archaeological evidence obtained from inscriptions excavated in 2005 dates the language to around 1000 BC. The most significant epic written in the ancient Tamzh language is the Silappadikaram, composed around 200-300 AD.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thamizh is considered older than Sanskrit. Linguists categorise Tamzh literature and language into three periods: Ancient (200 BC to 700 AD), Medieval (700 AD to 1500 AD) and modern (1500 AD to the present). During the medieval period, a number of Sanskrit loan words were absorbed by Tamzh.
