  PUBLICATIONS - 01 of 01

John WyathLibrarian,  Hobart, Tasmania, Australia.
20th January 2002. { TOPIC : PUBLICATIONS }

I am a retired public librarian. Now I am a consultant to some large public and university libraries.

I saw your publications listed in your site drvsrs.tripod.com. You have covered a wide range of application areas. These are of important for the development activities in the area of management, social development and economic development.

Normally books are available in these areas. But they are of theoretical importance and have learning value. Practical application of the theory is possible only by men on different work, trainers, in-field operators etc....

I am recommending to have your publications in the libraries where I am associated. Do you have these copies ? If so, can you send a copy of them to me. Or can you tell me where I can get these copies ?

Please reply to the same email.

My Reply

I have the original journals of the ALTIJARAH - 2000/2002, with my research papers on "Socio-Economic Development Acceleration", and "Redefined Productivity Model and Management Decisions". Also I have my original paper on "Corporate Infrastructure for Fifth generation Computers". All these are available in my Web-Site : www.drvsrs.com

A. Socio-Economic Development Acceleration : -

  1. On the Home Page Left click the Icon for "Socio Economic"

  2. On the getting the next page, Left click the Icon for "Soc.Econ Descriptive"

B.   Productivity Redefinition and management Decision : -

  1. On the Home Page Left click the Icon for "Management"

  2. On the getting the next page, Left click the Icon for "Managmt.Descriptive"

C. Corporate Infrastructure for 5th Generation Computers :-

  1. On the Home Page Left click on the Icon for "Software"

  2. On the getting the next page, Left click the Icon for "Corporate"

You will get the full publications with support diagrams. You should be able to print them by taking the print option from the Top Internet (File) Menu.

I do not have the copies of others. But you can get some of them marked as available, from the University Micro Films, Xerox university Micro Films Inc, 300 N Zeeb Road, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 48103, USA. (This is the only address I have, and it might have changed now). You can contact them by Email.

For other publications, you can please contact the Editor of the Journal by Email or by Post. (Month  and Year of publication, Page numbers and Full address of the publisher, is listed under each).

I do not know the Email address for these. You can find out through your University contacts or from Internet Search.

 QUOTATIONS - 01 of 02    SHOPPING

Sanjalina, Project co-ordinator, Garment Manufacturer, Colombo, Srilanka. 04 May 2004

I am a 26 year old graduate from Bangalore, who, at a crucial period of my life happened to visit your site. I was truly inspired by your collection of quotes which gave me direction in life and I would like to copy them. However, I am unable to do so. Would greatly appreciate if you could kindly mail me same in word/pdf file format. I am currently employed as a Project Co-ordinator in a leading garment manufacturing firm in Sri Lanka. I am also following Post Graduate studies in Business Administration at the local University. I have seen only the word quotes, as downloading the pictures takes too much time. I have seen the matter paper, each quote leads to and find them to be very informative and valuable reading matter. I have seen the pages on Motivation and Innovation and I am greatly interested in them especially due to their relevance to me as an employee in the industrial sector.

My Reply

Crucial Period : In everybody's life, every moment is a  Crucial (Of extreme importance) period.   We should take them as a Challenge, and utilise the outcome (success or failure) of our attempts, as a guideline to progress forward continuously.

  QUOTATIONS - 02 of 02

Sundaram Madhavan,  Software Engineer, Singapore. July 5, 2004.

I am a Software Professional, with a logical approach to everything in life and career progress. But when I visited to your site www.drvsrs.com and then www.lulu.com/drvsrs through your site link, I was taken away by the depth and practicality of your book DRVSRS-WORD-QUOTES. Particularly the Quotations from KKK (Kadayan Kasthuri Kalyani) like

  • Evaluate your contributions with reference to the benefits achieved by all members in the Home and the Society. Don't be selfish and Short sighted -  in Management, is in summary indicates that Individual progress should lead to the Group progress.

  • Aim for Peace and Self satisfaction as a Primary Goal than Material and Monetary gains - in Motivation, is in essence a theme followed by great achievers like Abraham Lincoln, Mahathma Gandhi, Albert Einstein etc.. from a vicious area of valuable contributors in the world.

  • Do the work with the best possible and available tools, with flexibility to alter them,  as and when the need arises in the future.  Do not repeat the same work many times within a span of short time. Try to pool similar and same jobs, so that it can be completed at one point of time - in Software, is what I aim for in day to day work, to create as many Sub Routines as possible within a Master Software, and provide flexibility to change as and when the user output requirement changes.

These are new inclusion for my future work methods and progress

My Reply

These quotations of KKK have an in-built correlation to the Socio-Economic Development status of the nations in the world. The nation where every body is selfish and do not contribte their efforts for the benefit of the groups and nation, the country is Under Developed. Where the individuals partially contribute, the nation is Developing.  Where the individuals whole-heartedly work and contribute their efforts not only for their progress but for the groups and the nation also, the nation is developed.  I introduced these concepts in my International assignments to evaluate every development project, with reference to 4 Rate of Returns :-
1. Economic (Living standard adequacy of primary needs & household
    saving capability).
2. Financial (Justification for the Money Investment).
3. Technical (Capability to develop and use advanced technology).
4. Social (Employment promotion, Domestic know-how utility, Happiness, Peace and Prosperity).
These are possible when the Resources are optimally utilised, without duplicating the same work, and the flexibility to alter the methodologies, as and when the Social Group and the national expectations arechanging.

  SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (SED) - 01 of 04

Kanthimathi,   Rural Housewife, Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, India. 24th December 2001. { TOPIC : SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT }

I am a housewife living in a rural district head quarters. I am not given enough chance to study, eventhough I wish to. I am convent educated. So I know some good English. My friend has computer and internet. She has done economics. Now she is doing business administration. She showed your Web site and the article in "Accelerate your Socio Economic Development" and "Productivity and Management Decision".

So I was interested to find what you have to say to remove the low standard of living for people like me. With my friend I went to Parama Kalyani College in a village called Alwarkurichi, my native place in our district. We requested the Economics and the Mathematics Professors to tell us what you have written in the internet.

We come to know that you want the government to encourage the local people to do the local production work. Also you want people to save. Government money  has to be used to improve local industries. The country should not depend on foreign help every year. Government has to keep the development of the people and their satisfaction as a rule to find the value of money spent every year. Every one's value and calamities in life has to be taken as important, and people have to be protected from suffering. All these are good only in a paper.

I know of accelerator in our rural buses, we use to travel for hours in dust and crowd. Socially we are suppressed. Economically we are poor. Prices are going up every day. We are not able to buy the daily food articles. Employment opportunity is not there. If it is there it is based on cast.

How it will help a person like me  by your writing a mathematical paper like this in the internet ???

My Reply

In your own sweet  rural and village language, you have beautifully translated what I say in my internet paper. I will answer you on Acceleration, Social suppression and Economic poverty.

Like a bus accelerator pushing the bus with more speed, the village level economy has to go forward day by day. For this the Government should use the number of people able to buy their food items in a day, in each rural village as a scale to measure the effect of their supply. Also number of jobs created should be valued on the total population in an area and not on cast basis.  This is not happening as I say in my Internet paper. So the bus goes forward and the people are left behind.

{Dividing people on Cast or Race  is called Apartheid . It is againt human rights in the world. It was in South Africa, and   fought and ended by people like Nelson Mandella. It was in USA, and  fought and ended by people like Matin Luther King Junior. Britishers did this on Black & White colour basis. This was ended by people like Mahathma gandhi.  It is a pity to find that it continues in India, and there is nobody to end it, even in 2000s}.

Suppressed society cannot progress. The feeling of suppression should go. For this the people in each village have to think ways for better living. This is possible by co-operative farming. All the villagers (say 100 people) having small pieces of agriculture land (say 1 acre each) in one place have to join and make one big land (100 acres). Farming is to be done like a production in a factory, by hiring tractors and other agricultural machines, fertilisers etc... Each farmer owner has to work for this. I am sure the local government and rural banks will help for this, by way of advance money. The income from sale (say 100,000) has to be shared by the acre given by each (100,000 / 100 X 1 = 1000 each). This is also called Motivation and Innovation (Please See these in my Internet Page). Each one in a society must join together, think and work. Then only the suppression will go.  This is what I say in the Internet as local resources and local man-power has to be used to support the local social and economic development. Government alone cannot do it.

Economically poor is because of low producton of needed items, more population to eat, and price rise is accepted by the people as a part of their life. There are no people to join together, think and do something to bring down the prices. Government along with the good-will of their employees can become efficient and do this in their area like Public Buses, Railway service etc... to bring the travel ticket cost cheaper. But both should realise, understand and work. Similarly I have given an example of co-operative farming above for the village people. In the Internet I say that  all the work and actions to be measured with Social and Economic development result as a reference. This is my new way for Productivity theory.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (SED) - 02 of 04

Nesreen Al Khathib, Student in Economics, Minya, Egypt.
3rd February 2002.
{ TOPIC : SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT }

Education with internet search assistance is the education of the day. Now I am on holidays back home. I am a person in economics and management studies. I am scanning the internet now a days for understanding how to perform well in both as myself and in my future jobs.

I read your news report collection in the support topic on your "concepts" in  Jordan heading. Jordan has educated people and their king has good management for the country. There is also local help from banks for money.

Also I saw your personal career. From both I understand, education is important for progress. This is important for each and every country.

In a country like us in Egypt, do you think educating all people will improve the living condition and we can reach a good development ?

My Reply

I am happy to find young persons like you are thinking with a broad and big way about improving the "living conditions" and "good development". I am calling the good living condition + some happiness + satisfaction as "Social development". The "good development" to get food, clothing etc.. for all within their earning, is called by me as "Economic development". Both joined together is "Socio-Economic Development". I use the word "Domestic" to point the "Local". As an student of Economics you should be knowing this.

My Research and Innovation to get both by any and everybody in a nation is :-

  1. Latest technology made to fit local conditions should be controlled and used by Local manpower.

  2. Local money investment has to be from Local savings (Do not depend on foreign help always)

  3. Treat local development goals as important to measure the Effectiveness (Or Productivity) of any   activity in the country.

  4. Attach more value to the natural, social, international and peoples' activities and needs (Intangibles) than quantity and money aspects (Tangibles).

Citing Jordan's progress quoted in my support, and my personal education list, you feel that education is the only key for such progress.

I wish to say that Education is one of the key for progress. It helps the local manpower to use and control the local managementtechnology and production. Education is one thing and application of the knowledge is another thing.

There are nations, which are not that forward in education. But prosperous in social and economic areas (Example : China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan). If you see any computer item, they are the makers !!. Also nobody can challenge them at their low price !!!. This is because of their hard work and motivation. They are able to learn high technology, think and use it for their own progress.

There are also nations with highly educated people and still in poverty line. (Example : Bangladesh, India and Srilanka). All their educated  people are in USA, Middle East, Europe or in other countries, using their education and hard work for the benefit of these immigrated countries than their own. I also find a number of educated and hard working Egyptians in different parts of the world.

Jordan is a special nation using the education for their own good. Jordanians abroad are also doing business to benefit their country.

Even Egypt is a historically prosperous nation. From Ahmose, the Pharaoh of 1550 BC to 1525 BC, the Nile Valley civilisation developed a golden empire, and Pyramids in Cairo are engineering wonders. People were able to use such a high and precision construction ability, about many thousands of years before (Local manpower with Local technology). Even now, any Arabic movie or TV serials a product of Egypt, and the best actors/actress/producers in Arabic serials are Egyptians. Historically music and dance started from the Egyptian "Gypsies" and spread all over the world. All these are marks of good living conditions and good development. But where it has gone ?

Getting the education is not the tool for better living conditions and good development. Knowledge from education should be used. Many times the knowledge is mis-used.

On 22nd April 2002 (Monday) I was watching an Arabic serial in Cairo TV (2.30 AM GMT). It is a comedy, about a man (TV serial has given his name as Mohsen), who is not that qualified, living in peace and happiness with his wife in a flat. His neighbours are qualified Medical Doctors, one is a Psychiatrist (Mental doctor) and the other is a Biologist (Germs and virus). These educated persons are not enjoying that much of peace and happiness, as they are busy in their profession and not caring for their home and family. They call Mohsen as a Romantic lover. The Psychiatrist feels that Mohsen is suffering from a histerical idiocy (mentally wrong), and the Biologist feels that some virus has entered into the body of Mohsen, and that is why Mohsen is feeling  happy. Both do not understand that happiness is a birth-right of everybody, but used their educational specialty to see it from a wrong-angle.

This is what is happening to the educated in all developing / under developed nations. The education is used in selfish / twisted ways, without understanding the vast amount of happiness, wealth and opportunity available in their own country. Educated people escape out of their country for their selfish gains. Even if they understand, they do not wish to spend their time and energy to make good of it. This needs a Group work, Motivated and Innovative approach. That is the essence of my research work Concepts and the object of this Web-Site.

I have not come across any effective news items related to  the Socio-Economic development status of Egypt, within the range of my news channels. I will search for it, and include in my "Concept support", as well as provide a click-link below this reply, at the earliest.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (SED) - 03 of 04

Peter Kemoli, Department Supervisor(Government Servant), Mongu, Zambia, Africa. 10th September 2002.
{Topic : Socio-Ecpnomic Development}

In the world, as in Zambia, the local government gives "housing loan". This is given to uplift a medium level family from poor living to a comfortable higher living.

I analysed this loan scheme and found out that it is not actually giving either the uplifting or the comfortable living.

Let me explain the process. Say a medium class government servant like me is getting a housing loan of 10,000 Dollars to build a house in the ancestral site, with interest free. This is a long-term loan and the government want it back in 20 years. To meet it, Dollar 41.66 is deducted form the salary every month, so that (Dollar 41.66 X Months 12 X Years 20 makes 9,998.40) + extra deduction of Dollar 1.60 at the last month makes Dollar 10,000.

You should note that during the 20 year period, the government servant is not owning the house, and spends his time in paying for it. When he really owns the house on the 21st year, the house is fully depreciated and its value is zero. Plus he is 20 more year old with a liability to repair a fully depreciated and bad house. Is there any social development for the person or is there any economic development for his family ?

My Reply

Every government as well as the Economic Development Institutions like Commonwealth, IMF, Regional Development Banks, World Bank and the UNDP help the local house-holds by providing house loans with interest free and very long term repayment facility.

You have correctly expressed the view point and the feelings of any medium class government servant in any part of the world. I wish to analyse the same from the following 3 angles.

1. External (Tangible) Economic Analysis.

If one views the loan as a piece of amount given by the government to a medium class person, and taken back by the government, then it is a simple external peripheral outlook. Let us analyse this monetary transaction in a little more in depth.

  • The government has given a loan of Dollar 10,000 without any interest. Let us say that the same loan is taken by a medium class person from any private lender or a bank, at a nominal simple interest of 8 per cent per year. The the interest for 20 years will be ( 10,000 X 8/100 X 20 ) Dollar 16,000 which is more than   times the loan amount, plus the loan of Dollar 10,000 has to be repaid. So the person has an economic gain of Dollar 16,000 in 20 years.

  • On the other hand let us say the person has hired a house at a nominal rent of Dollar 50 per month. The rent for 20 years will be (50 X 12 X 20) Dollar 12,000. ( This is under the assumption that the rent has remained the same for all the 20 years, while the trend in any country in the world is that the rent is in an increasing trend ). The medium class person should pay it or the employer (government or private ) should pay it as a house rent allowance. Also at the end of 20 years, a sum of Dollar 12,000 has benefited a third person who gave the house on rent, and the medium class person is left without any house, to call it as his own.

  • This supports my Exogenous concept of a domestic individual investment by getting a loan and repayment, even-though it started with an external government source.

2. Internal (Intangible) Social Analysis.

The government has given a loan to a medium class person to build a house in the ancestral property. Through this assistance, the medium class person has gained the following personal and social
comforts :-

  • To plan, design, construct and live in a house with the options, liking, suggestions and comfort of all the family persons.

  • During the period of 20 years, the government does not claim the ownership of the house, as well as does not create any inconvenience or discomfort to the medium class person and his family living there.

  • Even though the medium class person pays back the loan to the government through a nominal sacrifice of 41.66 Dollars in the monthly income, the medium class person enjoys the full and guaranteed ownership.

  • The government also enforces certain safety clauses like the person should not sell or mortgage the house till 20 years, which is in good faith and to escort for the medium class person to ensure the continued possession and ownership of the house.

  • This supports my following Economic concepts :-

    • Endogenous concept to build and possess a residential infrastructure created by a domestic construction effort, with domestic manpower resources.

    • Government (Management) decision to consider intangible psychological and social benefits for people as more superior than tangible monetary and quantum aspects (like   getting a higher interest return).

3. Post Repayment status.

After 20 years, the loan is fully repaid. At this point the medium class person fully owns the house with free will to repair, mortgage or sell.

  • But this real estate asset is acquired with a nominal payment of 41.66 Dollars per month. It has induced an indirect advantage of domestic saving potential for the medium class person, by drastically reducing the monthly deductions and increasing the monthly disposable income.

  • If the medium class person saves about 50 Dollar per month towards the repair and maintenance of the house, in 20 years it will accumulate to a sum of (50 X 12 X 20 ) 12,000 Dollars.

  • If the amount saved in each year (50 X 12 = 600 Dollars) is kept on a fixed deposit with compound interest, the sum accumulated at the end of 20 years will be quite large .

  • 20 years  is a fair and sufficiently large time period to bring up, educate, and employ a son or daughter, who can contribute to revive and repair the fully depreciated house.

  • This supports my Productivity concept to consider the Social Return on investment as more important than Monetary Rate of Return.

SOCIO-ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (SED) - 04 of 04

Arun.S.Patel. (Section Head - Finance Department), Government of Gujerat,  Ahmedabad. Gujerat. India. 4th November 2002. {Topic : Socio-Economic Development}

As a state government servant I was interested in your published work related to the Social and Economic development as well as on Productivity in drvsrs.netfirms.com.

At a national level, you have rightly inferred that the dependency on foreign assistance and help should be progressively reduced and brought to a "nil" situation by improving the domestic savings to support the domestic investments, and local manpower should be made to handle the local technology, as well as the productivity should be measured with reference to the Socio-Economic development units.

After a careful analysis of your research findings, I have come to a firm conclusion that these concepts are important for the progress of government sub divisions like the States, Districts and Villages. Let me explain how it can work.

It has become a practice that the villages look forward to assistance from district, the districts look forward to assistance from the state government and the state governments look forward to assistance from the central government.

This situation will change for the better if your concepts are applied.

  1. The villages should progressively reduce their dependency on the district and bring it to a "nil" situation by improving the village savings to support the village investments, and village manpower should be trained to handle the agriculture and village industries. Also, the productivity within a village should be measured with reference to the Socio-Economic development goals of the individual village.

  2. The districts should progressively reduce their dependency on the state government and bring it to a "nil" situation by improving the district savings to support the district investments, and district manpower should be trained to handle the district industries and business. Also, the productivity within a district should be measured with reference to the Socio-Economic development goals of the individual district.

  3. The state governments should progressively reduce their dependency on the central government and bring it to a "nil" situation by improving the state savings to support the state investments, and state manpower should be trained to handle the industries and business at a state level, Also, the productivity within a state should be measured with reference to the Socio-Economic development goals of the individual state.

But in a country like India with many diversified population groups, if the term local manpower is restricted to those who are the natives of each village, district or the state, peaceful co-existence and development will be jeopardised. I can tell you how it can be solved, by broadening the definition of the word "local manpower", without any nativity, language, religious or cast constraints.

  1. It is a person born in the country and contributes a productive work and savings for the development of the living locality, irrespective of their nativity and origin within the country.

  2. Nativity by birth in the locality should be given priority for training and employment, and wherever there is a gap of a particular trade or experience at the local level, manpower from the near by locality can be obtained.

  3. Mass training could be conducted at the district and state level, to upgrade the human potential at all levels.

My Reply

My concepts on Exogenous balancing of Domestic savings to support Domestic investments and Endogenous synchronisation of Domestic manpower to handle (moderated) Domestic technology is developed for a Macro national level. Productivity redefinition with reference to Socio-Economic development goals, is a prime need to balance the development gaps at Macro international level.

I am happy to find that an ingenious person like you in a responsible government assignment could find an application of my concepts to the Micro State, District and Village level. You have really broadened their scope and their utility.

11B SOFTWARE - 01 of 01

Joglekar.K.P, Student in Software , Hepaguda, Hyderabad, India. October 16, 2001 { TOPIC : SOFTWARE }

I am a MCA student specialising in MIS with Software development as major. I have come to stay and learn in Hyderabad because it is a place with Software parks filled with many Indian and foreign giants having latest developments in computer softwares. We have internet based education with on line search for latest developments. On searching for Softwares, I was linked with your site.

I studied your paper on Corporate infrastructure for fifth generation computers and Software innovation.

You paper in corporate infrastructure is a little complex. However, I was able to understand that the gap between the computer users and software developers are reducing. All have to work together to make a good and useful software. I came to know from my professors that in 1985 the system here was IBM 1401 with 16K Memory, Binary coded decimal chip, Autocoder language, 4 Tapes, 1 Disk and Punch card system. I am wondering how you were able to think like this and publish in 1985.

Your comparison of a kitchen work with a hardware and software programme is excellent. It can be understood by any person. It is used by our professors to project and teach these to us.

In your paper on software innovation, you have covered a very large area, which I think in India and the world no one single person could have covered. It will help new comers like me to use as a reference to see new areas for software and MIS development.

Finally I have one important thing to ask from you. You say that job knowledge is more important than software language knowledge, then is it necessary that one have to be a Chartered account to do accounting MIS, Engineer to do inventory MIS, Doctor to do hospital MIS, Marketing MBA to do sales MIS...... Also many of my friends are programmers in USA with simple qualifications like B.Sc or B.Com ?

Please clarify this for me.

My Reply

I thank you for your appreciation on my site contents. Also I am happy to find that a Post graduate institutions in Hyderabad is using the contents of my Web-Site to teach students.

You need not be afraid that a Software developer should get all possible degrees and education, before entering into the field.

Qualification is one aspect and practical application is another aspect.

You should read books on the biography and who had face to face discussions and interviews with JRD.Tata. Tata was a person of knowledge and practical application, than a highly qualified person. He was a pioneer to introduce the concept of "Labour Participation in Management" in TISCO, Jamshedpur, India, when nobody could dream of such an approach. He became the top class and highly recognised business man of not only India, but in the whole world by his ability to get the knowledge, as well as to apply them constructively, effectively,  usefully and in addition   profitably.

What I say in my Web-site is the "Knowledge" or "Know-how" and not the Qualifications.

Purely from a MIS and Software angle, one can observe any area, understand it in depth, discuss it with qualified / experienced persons in that field, to get an in-depth knowledge.

This knowledge dimension is sharply directed towards :-

  • What is the input ?

  • How it is entered ?

  • What are the edits to be performed for error free input ?

  • What helps are needed for the input entry person ?

  • What is the throughput or processing to be done ?

  • What are possible on-line and printed outputs ?

  • What extent of data confidentiality / security to be maintained at input, throughput and output stages ?

  • How to program the computer to meet the needs and requirements of all the persons involved   (Than fitting the persons into a tightly set up program)

  • What are the  flexibilities to be provided  to meet the changing needs of the users, from time to time.

  • How to back up the entered data and ensure their security ?

  • How to support the Software and provide modifications from time to time ?

This is an important guideline for all Applications developed for Specific users.

Normally it is done by a Systems Analyst, split into different programs and distributed to the programmers. But in the current millennium, these two functions have merged. So a software person should have the complete "Know-how" (again not the qualification).

Most of the programmers in USA, as you have mentioned, are supported with the "Know-how" by the Systems Analyst there. Also they may be in general purpose software development area like Word Processing, Spread Sheet, Image processing etc... They are not oriented towards any specific user. The standard specifications are pre-set and updated by the Software houses.

STARS IN THE SKY / ENMALISP - 01 of 06

NAVNEETH.R.BRIJWASI, Student in Space Science, INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY,  KALYANPUR CAMPUS, KANPUR. UTHAR PRADESH. INDIA. 23rd June 2002. { Topic : Stars in the Sky }
As a post graduate student in Astro Physics and Space Science, I have intensive interest in Astronomy, Space and the Stars. Zodiac signs are the fixed 12 constellations above the equatorial region, through which the Sun passes, and completes a round in one year.

Arabic and Greek astronomers are the pioneers to identify the fixed / variable individual stars in the zodiac constellations and name them.

But the Indian astronomers assigned a fixed 27 names for either 1 or more numbers of stars in a group, in the circular zodiac belt. They also allotted some stars to be part of two constellations. In addition, they used them in Astrology to provide predictions for people, based on the birth constellation and the birth star.

However, Constellation based Astrology and associated predictions are a feature of attraction in all over the world, but not the star based predictions.

Besides the study of the constellations and the stars from the Scientific angle of Space Science, I wish to know the value and validity of the Astrology and the predictions ??? Are they sensible or superstitious !!!

MY REPLY

It is interesting to find that you have touched the subject of Astrology, which I have carefully and skillfully avoided in my Web pages on "Stars and the Sky". As a Management Scientist and Modern Innovator, I do not believe in predictions, based on the Constellations, Planets and the stars. This is one side of my personal view and principle.

Also, Indian Astronomers too have identified significantly sufficient constellations and stars as well as assigned meaningful names to them, besides the zodiac belt. You can see this in my opening page of Stars in the Sky - 01. Main & Zodiac - Indian Names of Constellations and Stars.

On the other side, I have an inclination to understand the "Mathematical" ingenuity of the Indian astronomers, besides just identifying and naming the stars.

  1. The Earth and other planets in the Solar family are rotating at different distances, paths, speeds and paces. Because of the resultant effect of this random rotation, we are provided with an apparent and angular vision of Sun and other planets to coincide, and appear to be in line with  certain constellations in the background, at different points of time.

  2. Each zodiac constellation occupies different area of space in the sky, in a 360 degree circle. On an average,  each constellation covers about 360/12 = 30 degrees of space, which is too wide an area, spread from East to West.

  3. When a planet is in line with a constellation, to pin point its exact position, a precise reference spot is required within the constellation, and that is the specific star name. The star names are assigned by the Indian astronomers, are specific and static spots or reasonably small areas occupied by one or a group of stars, within the constellations. Hence, the Indian star naming is more mathematical than just naming each twinkling object in the sky.

  4. Among the 12 zodiac constellations, initially they found 28 such static spots. Arithmetic allocation of this lead to 28/12 = 2 and 1/3 stars per constellation. This permitted the allotment of 1/3 or 2/3 divisions of a star to the adjacent constellation junctions. But it was found that the planet movements are at times less than 1/3 or more than 2/3 constellation divisions.

Hence one star called Abijit in the constellation Swaramandalam, north of the constellation Dhanus, and between the stars Uthrashadam in Dhanus and Sravanam in Makharam, was dropped. (Star Vega, the Alpha Lyra, a brilliant blue white star, lying about 26 Light years away, in the constellation Lyra, visible over-head at 40 Degree North latitude, in line with the zodiac constellation  Sagittarius. It lies between Nunki the Sigma Sagittarius and Altair the Alpha Aquila).

  5. The region in the sky occupied by each of the final 27 stars (28 - 1) was divided into 4 parts, to get a space location of 4 X 27 = 108 spots on the sky. In the circular sky of 360 degrees, each star occupies about 360 / 27 = 13 degrees and 20 minutes, and each sub-division of star occupies about 360 /108 = 3 degrees and 20 minutes. This was sufficiently precise to pin point the exact location of a planet, within the constellation.

  1. For 12 constellations, each constellation was allotted 27 / 12 = 2 and 1/4 stars. Also this permitted the allotment of 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 (quadrant) divisions of a star to the adjacent constellation junctions, more synchronised with the planet movements.

  2. Now, what is the fortune or fortitude or fatal impact of each planet in a constellation or star, on the life of individuals on the Earth ? There is no scientific explanation or justification for this question, eventhough many claim and provide evidences to that effect !!!

One scientific concept which I am attempting to establish is the significance Gravitational Number for a given location on the Earth, due to the position of each planet in a constellation or a star, at a given point of time. (See - Zodiac Extension)

The Sun and other planets in the Solar system are the bulk masses sufficiently closer to the Earth. As per  Newton's law :-

  • Gravitational Force on any location on the Earth = (Mass of Earth X Mass of each planet) ÷ Square of the Planet distance from each location on Earth.

  • The masses are known.

  • Direct distance between each location on Earth and the Planet depends on the Longitude / Latitude of a place, and the angle subtended by each planet with reference to that location on the Earth.

  • This could be obtained to a precision of 3 degrees, by knowing the position of the planet in the exact quadrant of a star.

  • The distance from the surface of earth to the centre of the planet is = Planet distance + Radius of the Planet + Surface Distance of the location with reference to the centre of the Earth.

  • The force exerted by each planet could be computed. But the planets are randomly distributed around the Earth. Hence the force exerted on the Earth are at different directions. Accordingly the dimension of the force is either plus or minus, depending upon their direction.

  • After considering all these aspects, a net Gravitational Number could be computed for each location on Earth at any given point of time. The effect of this gravitation number could be correlated to the bio-psycho-physical status of a person in that location.

  • This is similar to the influence of the Moon's location in the sky, on the (high or low) tidal waves  of the sea on the Earth. Since human body is biologically filled with water component like blood, liquids in the intestine etc..., the Moon should exert an equal tidal effect on human beings. {The personal mental imbalance of a person is medically called "Lunatic", derived from the word Lunar, which exactly refers to the Moon}.

  • I will be thankful if you could take "Gravitational Number : A Tool for Earthly Predictions" as a research topic in your post graduation and come out with some new findings, to upgrade the quality of life on the Earth.

Ms.Katharine Hills, Professor in Physics, University of Wollongong, Australia. 02 August 2002 { Topic : ENMALISP - Science. }

As a Professor and Research Guide in Applied Physics, I am thrilled by your New concept ENMALISP.

  1. So far, the Law of Conservation of Energy was enunciated and had a restricted use within the area of Energy. Similarly, the law of masses were constrained to the laws on Dynamics and Statics.

But you have integrated the concepts of invisible energy with the visible mass, as (Energy + Mass) together is constant in the universe. This is practical, logical and supported by the following phenomena.

  1. Sun generates the heat, ultra-violet and other radiation by cyclically converting hydrogen to helium forward from a lower to higher mass, and helium to hydrogen backward from a higher to a lower mass.

  2. All elements and compounds are either in the form of solid, liquid or gas, which are the original masses in different forms. But when they disintegrate, they radiate the particles, which is the energy quantitatively equal to their original masses.

  3. Even in in-animate objects and elements, the atomic structure has static Proton and Neutron at the centre, with circling Electrons. Hence, a potential matter has kinetic energy inside. Hence, energy and mass in aggregate is constant.

  4. Mass of planets and stars are formed when energy solidifies. Energy is generated when mass of particles disintegrate.

  1. You have defined the space as a substrate filled with all pervading Ether, for the energy and mass to function and continue their cycle of transformation in a simple harmonic fashion. This should be also true, because,

    1. Mammals and reptiles inhale Oxygen from the space and give out Carbon di oxide to the space. Botanical species inhale Carbon di oxide and give out Oxygen. These are masses taking in mass and giving out mass, with reference to the space. Space probably converts its contents into all pervading Ether at different quantum at different areas in space. This explains the absence of gases, essential for life in the areas of deeper space.

    1. Trajectory of planets and comets are at varying dimensions as circle, ellipse, hyperbola, parabola etc... These are the graphical variations of a Simple harmonic motion, depending on the phase difference.

    2. Space is an ocean of all pervading Ether. Mass and Energy float on them.

  1. Your concept on gravity of matter as a wave equivalent of energy and its similarity in electrical equivalent in magnetism is a valid inference, because

    1. The laws of magnetic attraction, forces, induction, moments, potential etc.. are similar in corresponding components of gravitation.

    2. Induction of static electricity due to gravitation on matters follows the same laws governing the induction of electrical energy on a conductor moving within a magnetic field.

Congratulations for your new concepts which are "mind boggling", "thought provoking" and "integrates the science of physics into the doctrines of philosophy". After Newton and Albert Einstein, I consider you as the greatest valuable contributor for a new dimensional approach to the physics of space science. I expect NASA and other similar setup will make a big leap and multi-dimensional advancement in years to come, utilising your concepts. I am looking forward that the Nobel Prize in Physics for 2002 is awarded to you.

My Reply

My basic degree (B.Sc) is with Physics as a specialisation. I am a great lover and innovator in the area of Physics, which has drastically upgraded the quality of life in the world over the last few centuries, starting from the basic provision of electricity, to the most advanced level of electronics the basic infrastructure for the inter-net and inter space audio/video communications.

Integrated concept of Energy and Matter was in in my mind from birth. Once the human generation masters the methodology of this interchange, and be able to moderate the process as per specific requirements, then the creation of any energy from any matter, and vice-versa, from any starting base, will become possible. It is expected to upgrade the quality of human life to a vicious dimension, not thought of so far, by anybody's imagination.

I thank you for your supporting dimensions, and aspirations for the accreditation of my contributions.

Swami. Sailendra Anandha, Philosopher, Avvai Ashram, Siva Sailam Village, Ambasamudram Taluk, Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu. India. 12 August 2002{ Topic : ENMALISP - Philosophy. }

"Nothing belongs to us. But everything belongs to God" is a basic philosophical concept in every religion. When death engulfs a person, the body transforms from an animate to an in-animate status. The mortal remains, the wealth or the kith and kins cannot be carried by the departing soul. The mortal body mutilates and merges with the dust on the earth.

This philosophy was scientifically proved by the Nobel Laureate (1979) in Physics, Abdus Salam of Pakistan, as "Proton Decays".  Proton, a particle which decides the mass number,  remains at the core of an atom and considered as a stable particle, was proved by him as unstable. Decay of proton leads to a radiation of energy.

Thus,  every matter in this universe decays to its basic particles and ultimately merges with the energy. Everything on earth is in a mortal form with a measurable mass. At some point of time they loose their masses and merge with the energy in the universe. A mass-less  and formless energy is the ultimate form of God.

Your concept of ENMALISP brings out this philosophy of mortality and immortality in a forward direction.

On the other hand, God as a source of energy for the whole universe, can manifest as well as create the mass using the energy units as a source,  in any form, shape and format.

  • Your concept of ENMALISP brings out this philosophy of immortality to mortality in a reverse direction, through the concept that, at some point of time the universe will reach a status of only matter without any energy.

  • Albert Einstein (Nobel Laurate of 1921) created a binding equation between the Energy and the Mass (Matter) as E = MC2, and   said "Science without religion is lame and Religion without science is blind". But your concept of  ENMALISP has integrated the Energy, Mass, Life and Space, and unified both his mathematical equation as well as his philosophy on Religion and Science. In addition, it has removed the boundary between the concept of Energy and the Mass and vice versa, by emphasizing that both together in aggregate is constant.  It implies that the God in the form of Energy, engulfs the entire universe, including Energy and the Matter.

My Reply

The research on the birth of any planet or a star always leads to a sequence of an impact and imbalance in  energy, mass formation and solidification to form a material object. Hence both Energy and Mass are mathematically equitable. So far, they were considered as belonging to  separate entities and the law of conservation of Energy, and the laws of Matter (Dynamics and Statics) were applied exclusively into their respective domains. In the concept of ENMALISP, I bring out a theory that the all these laws are equally applicable to both Energy and Mass (or Matter). This induces a Philosophical dimension to the concepts of Science.

Understanding the philosophy, science,  their correlation and invent further, is exclusive and intelligent output  of the matter manifested with life.   Even the life and intelligence are  Energy-Matter base with the induction of  chemical and  electronic dimensions. The chemical and electronic dimensions too are the co-ordinated behavior and functions of Energy and Matter in a given space and substrate. Thus each aspect of the universal behavior and functions, wrap around the unique 2 components namely the Energy and Matter, both are different manifestations of the same basic infrastructure. This induces a Scientific dimension to the concepts of Philosophy.

Mohammed Qureshi, Geophysicist (Oil Fields), Abu Dhabi, UAE. 22 January 2003. { Topic : Stars in the Sky }

In your details about the Stars & Sky, you have provided an exhaustive list of astronomical words and their understandable meanings for any common man. The star maps of the zodiac signs are very informative. So far I do not know that every star piece is identified and a name or number is given to it.

However, I do not understand why the path of any planet in the universe is elliptical ? In a free space, why they cannot move in straight lines or whatever way they like to move, or remain at rest !! I wish to get a believable explanation for this.

My Reply

All the bodies in the universe (Asteroids, Comets, Debris, Freely rotating rocks, Planets, Stars etc..), moving around a central body (like the Earth moving around the Sun) exhibit an elliptical path. It is because of the universal law of attraction and repulsion. The mathematical
justification for the same is as below.

  • The mass of the body at the centre is say    - M1.

  • The mass of the rotating body is say            - M2.

  • The distance between the two bodies is say - D.

  • A Circle has only one Centre point.  Ellipse is an elongated Circle with 2 Centre points.

  • Greater than sign is >.

The force of attraction between them is proportional to (M1 X M2). Centripetal force - To come closer to each other.
The force of repulsion between them is proportional to D2. Centrifugal force - To go away from each other.

Hence, the force between any 2 bodies in the universe is (M1 X M2) / D2, as per the Newton's Law of Attraction and Repulsion.

Case 1
When the distance D is infinitely large. D2 >>>.. > (M1 X M2).                Both the bodies are in a straight line without any rotational relationship. They could be  at rest in their own locations, till there are no external disturbances.
Case 2
When the bodies come nearer and the distance D significantly large.
D2 > (M1 X M2).
The Centrifugal force (To go away from each other) is larger than the Centripetal force (To come closer to each other). The smaller body is
inducted with a force to move towards the larger body. Ideally the smaller body should  hit the larger body. Since the distance is very large, and  it misses the larger body due to parallax error as well as the random disturbances on its way in the space (Like shooting  a target with a bullet from a very long distance. The chances of hitting are very low). But the smaller body has gained enormous momentum (Pushing force), during its travel. As per Newton's First law of Motion, it continues to travel.
When it approaches near the central body, the central body  attracts and bends its path, due to its gravitational pull.  Hence, the orbit of the rotating body takes the form of a very large ellipse, with the central body in one of the centers, in a remote corner of the ellipse.

Case 3
When the distance D approaches a balanced level. D2 = (M1 X M2).
The Centrifugal force (To go away from each other) is equal to the Centripetal force (To come closer to each other). The orbit of the rotating body is a Circle with the central body in the centre of that circle.

Case 4
When the distance D approaches a lower level. (M1 X M2) > D2.
The Centripetal force (To come closer to each other) is greater than the Centrifugal force (To go away from each other). The the rotating body
plunges into the central body. Both the rotating and central body become one.

All the above cases are different phases of a Simple Harmonic Motion (Periodic motion with a restoring force proportional to the displacement). This is created and varied by the application of two forces at an angle, ranging from 0 to 359 degrees.

I am happy that you have contacted me on the search for SUMLINA and Morning Star. All internet site search on Sumlina will lead you only to a Product brand name, A Hotel name or any other Advertising contacts!!!! Also an internet search on Morning Star will take you to VENUS, the planet!!! I will find some thing from my late father's hand notes and ancient palm leaf scripts. All over the world, any star name has to be related to the Arabic or Greek name, as they were the   pioneers in locating and naming stars.

MORNING STAR

1. Pleiades

During late May, the Sun starts rising early in the Northern hemisphere. Hence the people in the Arabic world, get up early for their morning prayer. Every year during late May / in the first week of June, in the Eastern horizon of the sky,  Pleiades star cluster rises just before the Sun. Even though it is a very small cluster M45, between the constellations West of "Aries", East and just North of "Taurus", South of "Perseus" (considered as a part of the constellation "Taurus"), has one Star in the centre "Alcyone", surrounded by 6 Stars. It has an attractive formation,  and a bright ray around it.  It is the Spring star of the West, containing about 200 Stars and at about 150 Light Years away. In the Open Air Arab nations with starry skies, it was creating great interest and attraction to the morning prayer groups. Soon after the Sun rises, this cluster of brightness merges with the Sun's greater brightness, disclosing the summit of Beauty, Wisdom and Power joining together. Hence Pleiades cluster is  theMorning Star of the Arab world. Till a few centuries ago, the Sun was crossing the Celestial  Equator from South to North at the Pleiades cluster, during Mid May. Hence Pleiades was considered as the Starting star in the Sun's travel cycle, and the Morning Star of the Sun's starting year. Over centuries, the Sun's crossing point shifted to Aries during Mid April, to the star "Al Hamal (Ram)". Then it was assigned as the Starting Star in the Sun's travel, and it is considered so even in this century too. But now the Sun's actual crossing point of the celestial equator has shifted to the star "Al Rischa (Rope)" in the constellation of Pisces on March 21 each year.

2. Sirius

Another bright star in the morning sky during  June - July is "Sirius", meaning Sparkling or Scorching Star in Greek. It is the brightest Star in the entire sky. It is in the Constellation "Canis Major", just west of the Constellation "Orion", south of the Constellations "Gemini" and "Monoceros" and just north of the Constellations "Columba" and "Pupis". It is a white star, about 8.7 light years away and one of the closest star to the Sun. It is a rising star in late June / July. This was also of interest and attraction to the morning prayer groups in the Arabic World.   This is also referred as a Morning Star in the Arabic world.

 SUMLINA.

In Arabic, there are no star named as Sumlina with variations as Sam, Leena etc...   Arabic Girl Names referring to Star are : Farqad, Kankab, Najn, Najmah, Sitarah, Suha, Tali (Rising Star), Tara and Thurayya. In Arabic, "Samma" means "Sky" and "Lina" means "Tender". Hence "Samma Lina" is a possible combination name to mean a "Tender Sky" or a "Morning Sky", which opens or gives birth to a new day for all species in the world. Hence, it should refer to a female name.

POST REPLY- FEEDBACK

In the world, there is no question which is silly and no query that needs an apology. Albert Einstein  (German. 1879-1955), the greatest Scientist of the world, who invented Atom   Bomb and got a Nobel prize (1921), for his Theory of Relativity,   went to Brazil (South America) in May 1925. He stayed in the 4th Floor of Gloria hotel in Rio De Janeiro, and completed the "Theory of the existence of Proton". Then he came out to see around.  He walked on the road out of his hotel. That road joined the circle of Praia Do Russel at Flamengo, where a  number of  roads are meeting at angles. He got to the centre of the circle and decided to go and relax in the Flamengo Park.  After some time, he came back to the circle, and he was not able to locate the road from where he came, leading to his hotel, out of many angular roads meeting in the circle!! As common to  all great Professors, he did not remember the name of his hotel too !!! He had no alternative except asking the people on the road to help him to go to his hotel, without the name of the hotel as well as the name of the road (Both Silly and Apologetic).   No body was able to help him. But one Spanish sweeper ( who has been to Middle school level), cleaning the road, asked his name  (an irrelevant, silly and un-connected question),  just out of curiosity to know  how can a person be like this ? Our great scientist said his name is Albert Einstein. Immediately the sweeper said "Oh I saw in yesterday's news paper that the great Scientist  Albert Einstein is in Rio, staying in  Gloria Hotel !!!". He immediately showed that hotel across the road. The Sweeper's question was more worth than the questions of the great scientist, on the road. The lesson is  Knowledge &  Ingenuity as well as Confusion & Ignorance  is all pervasive, on all human beings. It is the gift of nature. Human generation progresses more by questioning about anything and everything, without any hesitation and reservation.
Issac Newton questioned why the apples fall on the Earth, instead of going upward (silly and illogical). Because of that,   we got the laws of gravitation and landed a man on the Moon !!!!

STARS IN THE SKY / ENMALISP - 06 of 06

Christopher John. Lecturer, Subang Jaya, Malaysia.

Dear Dr. VSR Subramaniam, I was looking through your website http://www.drvsrs.com/starsnew.htm when I suddenly saw the Indian names for most of the 88 constellations. Now, I am familiar with the Indian names of the 12 zodiacal constellations, and even the 27 (or 28) nakshatras. I was however not familiar with the Indian names for the non-zodiacal constellations. I was particularly surprised by the Indian names given to the constellations in the southern hemisphere. I know that Abbe Nicolas Lacaille mapped and named fourteen constellations in the Southern hemisphere (Caelum, Pictor, Sculptor, Antila, Circinus, Fornax, Horologium, Microscopium, Norma, Octans, Pyxis, Reticulum, Telescopium, & Mensa)between 1751 and 1752. So it did come as a surprise that the Indians had names for most these. What is the history and the mythology behind these other non-zodiacal constellations, from an Indian point of view? When were they discovered and named? Were they known at the time the ancient Indian scriptures (Vedas) were written? If not, when were they known to the Indians? Did the ancient Indians have the equivalent of a star catalog? What do the Indian names of these constellations mean? I look forward to your kind response. Thank you.

My Reply

A)  ENERGY & MASS CYCLE
Universe is made up of only two manifestations. They are Energy and Matter (Mass). At one point of time, the Universe will reach a status of only Energy manifestation, without any Matter. At a diametrically opposite point in time, the Universe will reach a status of only Matter manifestation, without any Energy. Everything in the Universe is an illusion of slowly inter-changing Energy & Matter manifestation cycle, in the Space substrate, functioning in a Simple Harmonic pattern, from 0 to +360 Degrees forward and 360 to 0 Degrees backward. Hence every species on Earth was a part of a Whole mass matter once, and they have an irretrievable record of every matter in the universe. Stars and Planets are masses in this transitional cycle. Stars are energised (burning) planets.
(See at : http://www.drvsrs.com/lawofem.htm)

B)  DAY AND THE NIGHT SUNS
When the human generation with a thinking faculty, originated on the Earth, they gazed the Sun during the day and pondered over the twinkling objects in the night. The Ancient Indian look of the night sky composed an old Sanskrit Sloka (couplet) "Sarva Dishanaam, Suryaha, Suryaha, Suryaha." This means that there are Suns in all directions. This demonstrates that when one Sun sinks below the horizon, a thousand Suns take its place at night. Because of this fact, there was a need to name the night Suns (Stars), to differentiate and identify them from the Day Sun.

C) VEDHIC STAR NAMES
In India the first references to astronomy are to be found in the Rig Veda which is dated around 2000 B.C. Vedic Aryans in fact deified (idealised as Gods) the Sun, Stars and Comets. Based on these Vedhic concepts, the Nalanda University was organized in 4th - 5th Century AD, with a famous astronomical observatory "Khagola" and housed about 9 million books, most of them were on Astronomy, the Solar system and the Stars. It was the center of education for scholars from all over Asia. Many Greek, Persian and Chinese students studied there. Aryabhatta (476- 587 AD) was the ancient Astronomer, who studied at Nalanda (State of Bihar, India), made significant contributions to the field of astronomy and Star names. He also propounded the Heliocentric theory of gravitation, thus predating Copernicus by almost 1,000 years.

D) STAR MAKERS

As per the Indian Legends and Epics like Maha Bharatha and Ramayana, (about 2500 BC) the Stars are Created and Formatted by the Yogic powers of the ancient Monks (Rishis), Rulers and the Godly power manifested Super humans. In the ancient Aryan age, the Northern Hemisphere was marked for Positive Powers and prosperity, while the Southern hemisphere, beyond 50º South, was designated as the Direction of Death and Evil Power domination, to balance the population on the Earth (all species including humans) to a tolerable level, for the continued existance.

F. THRISANGU - CRUX - SOUTHERN CROSS
Natively called called Satya-vrata, the 7th descendent of Manu - the universal philosopher and ruler of all worlds, committed 3 dreadful sins. For this,  his father, a king of the southern heavenly regions, banished him, and condemned him to the performance of a silent penance for twelve years. During his exile there was a famine, and he succoured and supported the wife and family of Viswamitra (a sage with extraordinary yoga powers), in absence of the sage. For this act, Viswamitra was grateful for the assistance rendered by him and renamed him as Tri-sanku (out of 3 sins), and gave him the choice of a boon. He begged the sage that he should ascend him bodily to the haven. Viswamitra then reinstalled Tri-sanku in his father's kingdom in sothern heavens, and in spite of the resistance of the gods other powerful sages like Vasishtha, he exalted Trisanku  alive to heaven. He became the Southern cross with the Head on South, Legs on North and the 2 hands in East and West.

It educates me on the direct relationship between simple rural household and a complex economic theory, self-discipline concepts and career making persons to motivate and innovate, engineer's roles and the productivity redefinition etc.....
This is the first time in my life I was able understand the relationship between science and philosophy, through your viewer's views....
Many persons approach me for a career guidance. Letters written by many viewers on this topic and your reply are of good and valuable use to me to guide those future career makers....
I am April born and find my sign as Pisces in the news paper, when I watch my daily predictions. But through your Stars and Sky, I got the configuration of Pisces and I really saw that in the night sky. It was very interesting to read the letter written by Mr.Navneeth, particularly his interest to understand the relationship between astrology and astronomy. Your reply to him was very interesting and educated me on many complex mathematics behind the astronomy and astrology....
As soon as I bought my Lap Top, I started with  Windows and Autocad. So I was feeling that software is  a box or a chip   inside a computer, made of soft materials. Mr. Joglekar's letter and your reply was an eye opener to my knowledge of software.....
I love music and it always gives me the pleasure to listen and relax. But Ms. Cathy Gorden's letter and your reply opened my eyes on the mathematics behind it, and it gave me a reading pleasure and inner feelings of musical notes.
To be frank, it has become a daily habit for me to open your Website, click into the viewer's views. The viewer's letters and reply guide me to select the matter pages and understand what you have put in there.
Please keep it up....

8. Software (Structure).
When a Personal Computer (PC)  or Laptop is purchased, the current commercial practice includes the price with licensed versions of Windows, Games, Internet Browsers, Videos, Techno-commercial Design Software etc...as a package. These are pre-recorded on the hard disc and delivered to the customers. Many buyers feel that the pre-recorded software as a pre-set hardware chips. Hence the Software  is not a "Magic box". But it is an intricately assembled "Logic Cox" ! (Logic = Orderly directions given to do a  job. Cox = A head of a race or boat crew, with certain targets). But with the advancement in electronic technology, the software codes are converted into "Plug and Play" micro chips.  The best  examples are the software logic of a Calculator, Game, Virus Scan etc.. are available on micro chips and inserted into the computer or Video Cassette Players. Hence these Logic Coxes are becoming Magic Boxes.  Other viewers could see and understand this by clicking here :
Education & Software / Software.
