Besides
the study of the constellations and the stars from the Scientific angle of Space Science, I wish to know the value and validity of theAstrology and the predictions ??? -

I have an inclination to understand the "Mathematical" ingenuity of the Indian astronomers, besides just identifying and naming the stars - DR.VSRS
Congratulations for your new concepts which are "mind boggling", "thought provoking" and "integrates the science of physics into the doctrines of philosophy" -  Ms.Katharine Hills

GO TO :   Cepheus (Vrisha Parvam) Draco (Kaliya) Ursa Minor (Dhruva Masyam) Pole Constellations

Sun never goes beyond 23 degrees Latitude in the North. So, these Far north Stars, which are beyond that range, are visible  all through the years, in the night.  Also, in the North pole area, sun rises from the South, during April to June, and sets by going back to South during July to September.  From October to March, the area is almost dark. Hence all the Stars are visible  in this area, almost during day time and night.

ζ (Zeta)  Cephi is a blue white double star.

ξ  (Xi)      Celphi (Hwa Kee) is a Chinese name for Umbrella
Integrated Flux Nebulae (IFN) : There are unexplored Nebulae in the Northern sky, illuminated by the energy of all the stars in the milky way.  These are high above the plane of our Galaxy.  About 9 degrees south of the North Celestial Pole, in the constellation of Cepheus known as the "Cow Nebula" or MW7 (Mandel-Wilson Catalog of Unknown Nebula #7). While the nebula is quite faint, it is one of the denser parts of the IFN. (SOURCE : http://www.astronomersdoitinthedark.com/index.php?c=165&p=531)

Mythology : In Greek and Roman legend, Draco was a dragon killed by the goddess Minerva (Goddess of   Wisdom) and tossed into the sky upon his defeat. The dragon was one of the Gigantes (Great strong men) who battled the Olympic gods for ten years. As Minerva threw the dragon, it became twisted on itself and froze near the cold North Celestial Pole.

In Hindu (Indian mythology) considers it as Kalinga or Kaliya, a multi headed
poisonous
   snake.
The proper home of  Kaliya,  a dangerous/poisonous  multi headed serpent was
Ramanaka Dwipa (in Fiji island). But he had been driven away from there by the fear
  of
Garuda (King of Eagles).  So, he jumped into
Yamuna River, a tributary of the river

Ganges (Ganga) in northern India. This originates from the Yamunodhri, a Glacier at a   height of 6,387
feet in Himalayas. This river flows through Vrindhavan (in
Uthar Pradesh, Madura District, India). Because
of the entry of Kalia, the water of the Yamuna boiled and bubbled with poison. No bird or beast could go near, and only one solitary Kadamba tree (
Neolamarckia cadamba)
grew on the river bank. Therefore     Kāliya chose Vrindavan as his residence, knowing that it was the only place where  Garuda could not come. Once Lord Krishna and his herd boys were playing ball, the ball fell into the Yamuna river and Krishna jumped after it.  Snake Kāliya rose up with his hundred and ten hoods vomiting poison. All the Gopis (female friends of Krishna) and people of Nanda Gokula got tensed and came running towards the Yamuna bank, as
soon as they heard the news that Krishna jumped into the river where the dangerous Kaliya was staying. Meanwhile in the bottom of the river, Kaliya wrapped himself around Krishna's body. Krishna became so huge that Kāliya had to release him. Krishna immediately regained his original form, and suddenly sprang into Kāliya's head and assumed the weight of the whole universe, and danced on his heads, beating with his feet.  Kaliya started vomiting blood and slowly began to die. But then the Snake’s wives came and prayed to Krishna, for the mercy for their husband Kāliya. Recognizing the greatness of Krishna, Kaliya also surrendered, promising that he would not harass anybody. So Krishna pardoned him and then threw him towards the North Pole.  Kaliya fell down around Dhruva (Pole star) like a garland. He became one of the largest constellation around the Pole Star with his head in the West
and Tail in the East.

HEAVENLY & EARTHLY STARWestern and Indian representations. Location of View : North Pole
{ Star sizes are of relative magnitude & Not to Scale.   Constellation's Primary Stars are shown }

Sun's Path towards Ursa Minor :   In April  - Rises (Goes up) from South
In  June  - 23 Degrees North (Maximum point)
From - July to September goes down to South
From - August to March - No Sun - Deep Darkness

Over head location : Pole Star is always over the head in North Pole.
Astro Alignment     : It is aligned with a line connecting Merak (Pulaha) and
                                 Dhube (
Krathu) Stars of the Ursa Major (Saptha Rishi)
Visible in Equator & Upto 23 Degree North (Northern Hemisphere):

From April to June - The Star come up in North.
From July  to  September - Goes down towards North
                Not visible afterwards.

Visibility in Southern Hemisphere
: Not visible throughout the year
Stars :   Yellowish Polaris (Dhruva Dhara), Kochab
Polaris (Dhruva)  : It
never rises nor sets. It is permanently over the head, fixed to the North Pole of
the Earth. But the Earth also has a wobbling rotation of its axis, connecting the
geographic North and South Pole. Because of this, the Pole star changes over
centuries. This rotation circle is completed in 28,500 Earth years.

Formation :  Greek Mythology designated Ursa Minor as Small  and Ursa Major as Great Bear (Probably, because of the domination of Polar Bears in that  region).
===============================================================================
In Hindu (Indian) mythology, Dhruva was born as the son of the King Uttānapāda (the son of Svayambhuva Manu, creator of an ancient legal text in Sanskrit, during 2nd - 3rd century BCE, called Manu Smrithi) and his wife Suniti (the daughter of Dharma). The king also had another son Uttama, born to his second queen Suruchi, who was more liked by the King. Once, when Dhruva, when he was a child of five years, he was sitting on his father's lap at the King's throne. Suruchi, who was jealous of the older son from the first wife, forcefully removed Dhruva from his father's lap. When Dhruva protested and asked why he could not be allowed to sit on his father's lap, Suruchi cursed him by saying, “only God can allow you that privilege. Go and ask him.” Suniti (first wife and mother of Dhruva) being of gentle nature and now the lesser favorite wife, tried to console the her child. But Dhruva was determined to convey this to the Lord himself ! Seeing his firm resolve, his mother bade him farewell, as he set out on a lonely journey to the forest. Dhruva was determined to seek for himself his rightful place.  Noticing this resolve, the divine sage Naradha appeared before him and tried to desist him from assuming a severe austerity at such an early age. But, Dhruva's fierce determination astonished the sage, and  guided him towards his goal by teaching him the rituals and mantras to meditate to seek  Lord Vishnu. The one mantra which Narada taught and which was effectively used by Dhruva was Om Namo Bhagavathe Vaasudevaya”. Having been advised, Dhruva started his meditation, and went without food and water for six months, with his mind fixed on the Lord. The austerity of his penance shook the heavens and the Lord appeared before him. But the child cannot open his eyes, because he was still merged in his inner vision of  Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu had to adopt a strategy of causing that inner vision to disappear. Immediately Dhruva opened his eyes, and seeing outside what he had been seeing all along in his mental vision and he could not utter a single word. The Lord touched his right cheek by his divine conch and that sparked off his speech. He recited a  beautiful poem of praise on the Lord in 12 powerful verses, which together were called “Dhruva-stuthi”. Coming to know about his penance to get the seat of his father's lap, Lord Vishnu offered the seat of Pole star, the Highest Heavenly body, with no rising or setting routines.
Navigation Guide : Earth is a rotating Pendulum suspended from the Pole Star.  The North pole is tightly tied to the Pole star. Hence, it has to tilt itself laterally by 23  degrees North and South along the axis, to keep this suspension alignment. It rotates around the Sun in an Elliptical orbit, and completes one round in 365 days of its own rotation. (1) The Geographic North pole is in the middle of Arctic Ocean (90 N), and it is the true north, below the Pole star. (2) The Magnetic North pole, shown by the Compass, is in Ellesmere island (79.5N 78W in North Canada). This is about 500 KM away westward from the Geographic North pole. There is also a shift in the magnetic pole by about 40 KM per year, around the Geographic pole. (3) During the nights, Air pilots and Ship Captains (in Northern hemisphere) use Pole star as a true guide to North, than their Compass.
Double Star :
ϒ  Ursa minor (Pherkad) is a Blue-White Double Star
Star Geometry : Line connecting Merak (Pulaha) and Dhube (Krathu) in Ursa Major (Saptha Rishi) leads to Pole Star (Dhruva Masyam). Ursa minor never rises or sets. The Pole star (Dhruva) is fixed over the North pole. The tail stars and the Trapezium end rotates like the hour hand of a clock, to indicate the time.

HIS INTUITIVE VIEWS ON STARS & SKY

ASSUMPTIONS : 1) The total Energy in the cyber space is E (2) The total mass equivalent to  this total Energy is M.  FORMULA :  Energy and Mass relationship is E = MC2 as fixed by Albert Einstein. C =  The velocity of light.
=================================================================

  1. Universe is made up of only two manifestations. They are Energy and Matter (Mass).

  2. Universe is oscillating in this forward and backward processes of Energy & Mass  conversion, in a Simple Harmonic pattern.

  3. At one point of time, the Universe will reach a status of only Energy (E) manifestation,  without any Matter (M = 0). E Joules = M X 0.101971621298 kilogram.

  4. At a diametrically opposite point in time, the Universe will reach a status of only Matter (M) manifestation, without any Energy (E = 0).  M Kilograms = E X  (9 X 1016 ) Joules.

  5. In any intermediate stage, there will be partial Energy and partial Matter. But the total (Energy + Matter) = Constant.

  6. Everything in the Universe is an illusion of slowly inter-changing Energy to Matter manifestation cycle,  in the Space substrate, functioning in a Simple Harmonic pattern, From 0 to +360 Degrees forward and 360 to 0 Degrees backward.

  7. The time required for the forward and backward conversions are so large, that no living species can exist and see.

  8. Hence all the laws of Energy are applicable to the Mass (Matter), and all the laws of Mass (Matter) are applicable to the Energy.

Gazing the sky, naming the stars, wondering about their configuration and movements provide only an external happiness. While an exploration of their origin, their existence and their expected future, provide an innovative rejoice. This foresightedness and motivation inducted by my father is the base for the development of this page on Stars and Sky.
